Tips for Shopping the Nordstrom Sale

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is like the super bowl for fashion bloggers.  It is the sale of all sales! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is where next season’s new items are discounted for a few weeks and THEN prices go up.  Things sell out FAST. Like CRAZY FAST! Lucky for you I’ve been shopping this sale for awhile and I’m sharing with you all of my secrets for shopping the sale!

But first of all, you might be wondering WHAT the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is exactly? Every year in July, Nordstrom has a HUGE sale that lasts 2-3 weeks.

Why does every single blogger talk about this sale?! As someone who has been shopping this sale looooong before my blogging days, I can tell you that it really is that good! Now, you don’t need to go crazy by any means and drain your bank account.  I use this sale to get a jumpstart on my fall wardrobe and invest in some basics that I can mix and match in all fall & winter long!  My favorite categories to shop are shoes, denim, and sweaters- in that order! The sale can be very overwhelming, especially if you’ve never shopped it before.  But have no fear, I’m going to take my years of experience and share with you my 5 tips for shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year!

Top 6 Tips For Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

  1. Open a Nordstrom Card! They have a debit card option as well (because I would never tell you to open a credit card! I do have the credit card, so no judgement if you go that route or have one too! I just feel yucky advising people to open a credit card, ya feel me? LOL okay moving on.) You’ll get a $60 note just by opening a card! And the best part? You don’t have to actually use the card to shop the early access, you can use any other credit or debit card you want, they just need you to be a cardholder! Shopping early access is KEY and fun I might add 🙂
  2. Make a Budget– It can be REALLY EASY to go a little crazy during this sale so take the time to give yourself a budget and stick to it!! I’m not here to put you into debt!
  3. Don’t Hesitate! As long as it’s in your budget! 😉 But really, with free shipping & free returns this is a no brainer! I’m known to order both sizes in jeans if I am in between and return the pair that doesn’t fit! Hot items sell out sooooo fast and many times they will restock but not always!
  4. Schedule an Appointment with a Personal Stylist.  Shoutout to Ruth at Nordstrom Woodfield! She has been styling my sister and I for years now! Stylists at Nordstrom are super helpful! They set up your dressing room with items you pick out and items that they think you will love! I love what she suggests and I end up trying items that I might not have picked out myself.
  5. Keep Sold Out Items in your Online Cart. Or put them in your “save for later” this won’t be an issue for you if you follow rule number 3.  But this is something I learned last year.  There was a pair of Zella leggings that I just HAD TO HAVE and they sold out in my size but I was able to see when it came back in stock just by checking my cart- and eventually I was able to snag a pair.
  6. Follow Fashion Bloggers and use them as a Resource! I know so many fashion bloggers and influencers who are working really hard to bring you the best of the best in the sale! Use them as a resource! We’ll provide our top picks for each category and many usually give reviews on quality and sizing.  This is especially helpful for when you’re shopping online!

Have fun shopping ladies! I use this sale as an opportunity invest in staples like denim, shoes, and sweaters for my fall and winter wardrobe. I’ll be sharing what I pick up this year and what I think are the best deals so stay tuned!  I’ll always link everything here and in the liketoknow.it app!

XOXO,

Sarah Ashley
