Marriage Milestone Wine Bottles- The Perfect Bridal Shower Gift!

Cheers to the bride and groom! A gift to help the new couple celebrate all of the many adventures they will experience together! These milestone wine bottles are sure to make your wine loving bride and groom giddy this wedding season. This was HANDS DOWN my favorite gift I’ve ever given at a bridal shower (and I’ve been to LOTS of bridal showers throughout the years.) Since the bride was my sister I knew I wanted to do something that was fun and personalized just for them!

While shopping off the registry is so convenient, especially because you’re getting the couple exactly what they want, sometimes it’s fun to bring something that will be a surprise to them! Since I knew the bride and groom love a good bottle of wine, I knew this is something they would love! Helpful hint: if you don’t know the bride and groom very well, always stick to the registry! If you are extremely close with them and KNOW they would love something like this, go ahead and give them something personalized like this!

Why I purchased these specific labels

  1. Customization: down to the to color of each tag, which milestones to include, and even included a free proof!
  2. Personalization: I loved that these labels included their wedding date, location, initials, and the blend named after them
  3. Price: I felt like they were fairly priced and looked extremely professional
  4. User Friendly: the shop owner includes very detailed instructions on how to put on the labels correctly, everything from how to remove old labels to how to pick the correct shape bottle to get the cleanest look.
  5. They’re forgiving: YUP! If you make a mistake and place it a little crooked, you can gently peel off the label and try again!

How to put together Personalized Wine Bottles

First things first, choose a wine bottle that has a standard and symmetrical shape, no extra curves or curves by the neck.  Wines like Chardonnay and Cabernet work the best! We went with six bottles of the same wine, but you can of course mix and match different wines, just make sure the bottle shape is one that looks like the ones I have here.

Next, remove the labels from the wine bottles.  I used my sink (you can use a bucket instead if you prefer) and filled it with cold water and lots of baking soda.  By lots I mean probably 10 tablespoons for all six bottles.  Some instructions say you only need to let them soak for 20 minutes, but I ended up soaking mine overnight because they were pretty stubborn. BUT I was able to just peel the labels right off with little to no resistance! Any extra residue I scrubbed with dish soap and hot water, or took a baby wipe to it.

After your bottles are clean and dry you can place your new wine labels on them.  I gently peeled back the labels and pressed the label on pressing down from the middle going top down and then pressing from the inside out to avoid any bubbles.  Remember these stickers are forgiving so if you do make a mistake you can gently pull the label back and try again.

Finally, make your milestone wine bottles gift ready by placing them in a basket. (Bonus points if you find something to put them in that’s off their registry!)

XOXO,

Sarah Ashley
