The Best Jalapeño Margarita Recipe

This Summer Danny and I have perfected our Jalapeno margarita recipe and it’s become a staple in our house during happy hour or date night.  I personally don’t love the premade margarita mix you can get from the store (it’s just too sweet for me!) so we’ve come up with our own recipe that tastes so good and fresh!

Ingredients

2 parts tequila

1 part triple sec

1 part fresh lime juice (you can squeeze yourself OR grab a bottle of fresh squeezed lime juice from the store)

1 part simple syrup (boil equal parts of water and sugar until all the sugar is dissolved, let COOL, store in mason jar in the refrigerator)

Jalapeno slices to taste

Directions

  1. Place a handful of ice in your shaker
  2. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, simple syrup, and jalapenos into shaker
  3. Secure shaker tightly and shake until the outside of the shaker is frosted
  4. Salt the rims of your glasses, this makes it super easy!
  5. Place ice into your glass, I love to use one giant ice cube in these glasses
  6. Pour margarita into glasses, top with a fresh lime and jalapeno slice

Jalapeno tip: The spice level of your margarita is dependent on how many seeds you leave in your jalapeno slices.  More seeds = spicier. If you want the jalapeno flavor to be more subtle, make sure to deseed the jalapenos before placing them in the shaker!

If you make this drink please tag me on instagram @sarah.berge so I can see it!!!

Cheers!
