Whew! All I can say was that was FUN! We had such a blast at Hazel’s one year old golden birthday party and I’m so thankful for my husband’s photography skills which has helped capture the day so well.  Here are some of those snapshots and all of the details on Hazel’s one year old birthday party including location, menu, and decor!

Location

We held her one year old golden birthday party at our house which actually was not the original plan! We had looked into renting a few different spaces so that we wouldn’t have to narrow down our guest list because Hazel is soooo popular 😉 But at the end of the day we liked the quaintness of having it in our own home.  The place we made so many memories, like her first week home when I think we ALL were sleep deprived, to watching her roll over for the first time and so many other fun memories and milestones accomplished here.  It only seemed fitting to celebrate her first birthday in the same place!  So that was that! To make room for everyone we literally shipped our couches out of the house for the weekend and converted our garage into another space to gather!

Decor

I wanted to keep everything clean, neat, and classy while being a little “extra” in all of the right places.  I knew I wanted to do some fun balloons and I loved the idea of spelling GOLDEN GIRL in balloons. Tip: Not all gold balloons are created equally! I had a hard time finding gold balloons that weren’t too yellow, so I opted for the rose gold and I LOVED it!  I bought most of my decorations on amazon and a few on etsy! My favorite part was the highchair that Hazel sat in to eat her cake, it was actually my grandma’s and it was such a sentimental part of the party that not many people knew about!

I have to say that this was one special (& delicious) day and I am so grateful to all of the family and friends who made it out.  And we missed those who couldn’t make it!  Danny and I couldn’t have made it through this first year of parenthood without everyone’s love and support!
